Yes — 24/7 during the boating season, April through November. Outside those months there is limited availability; call and we'll do what we can. In-season, the shop line rolls to the on-call tow captain overnight — expect a fast response for taking-on-water and life-safety situations.

Yes. Sunken vessel recovery, capsize righting, and submerged-equipment retrieval are core services. We own our salvage lift-bag inventory (not rented in), plus staged rigging, dewatering pumps, and a compressed-air setup. Salvage is inherently situational — sea state, depth, vessel size and condition, and environmental risk all factor in. We assess up front and are honest about what's achievable safely.

Yes. We maintain an owned inventory of marine lift bags staged for different vessel weights, along with a compressed-air setup for staged inflation. Air bags are the standard tool for lifting a submerged or partially submerged boat; combined with dewatering pumps they let us stabilize and refloat most sunken PWCs and small boats without needing a crane. For larger vessels we go barge and crane.

Yes. For vessels too large or too deep for air bags alone, or for awkward positions where we need overhead lift capacity, we can bring in a barge and crane. Most recreational-scale recoveries (PWCs, jet-boats, sport boats, small runabouts) don't need it — but when your job does, we have the capability.

Yes. We've partnered with the Canadian Coast Guard on multiple complex salvage operations. For jobs that need multi-party coordination — commercial vessels, hazardous positions, salvage in a shipping lane, or life-safety events — we're already known to the local Coast Guard station. We handle the incident write-ups and reporting that Transport Canada requires.

Yes — both soft and hard groundings. Soft groundings on sandbars and shoals typically use kedge anchors, a heavy-duty winch, and — if the boat is sitting hard on the bottom — lift bags to shift the hull off. Hard groundings on rocks are more delicate: we assess hull integrity before pulling, because a bad extraction can turn a fixable grounding into a sunken boat. We time the pull to tide, wind, and swell windows to minimize damage.

Yes — PWCs and Sea-Doos are our specialty on the shop side, and that carries over to the water. Capsized PWC righting, retrieval of a sunken jet ski, transport back to the shop for teardown and dry-out — all common jobs for us.

If anyone on board is in immediate danger, call the Canadian Coast Guard FIRST — dial *16 from a cellphone or use VHF Channel 16. Report your position and condition. Coast Guard exists for life-safety response and their assets may reach you faster than any commercial operator; their job is getting people off a sinking boat, not towing it. Once your people are safe, call SeaTec at (647) 365-1949 for the tow and salvage. If the boat is taking on water but no one is in immediate danger, call us directly and tell us that first — it triggers priority dispatch. We arrive with high-capacity dewatering pumps, hull patches, plugs, and epoxy sticks for on-water breach containment. If the hull can be stabilized we tow you to a safe harbour or the shop.

Most marine and personal-watercraft insurance policies cover the cost of a tow — sometimes as a specific 'on-water assistance' or 'towing' line item, sometimes as part of comprehensive hull coverage. Salvage and recovery are usually covered under a different clause. We provide itemized invoices, photos, and a written incident summary suitable for filing a claim. If you're not sure whether your policy covers it, call us anyway — we'll help you sort the paperwork after the fact.

Depends on your current position and where our vessel is at the time of your call. Toronto Harbour and the west end typically see the quickest response; farther east or west takes longer. Call and we'll give you a realistic ETA up front. For immediate life-safety situations — sinking vessel, someone in the water, medical emergency — call the Canadian Coast Guard first: *16 from a cellphone or VHF Channel 16. We are commercial tow and salvage, not the Coast Guard; their assets exist for life-safety and may reach you faster than a commercial operator, but they generally will not tow the vessel — that's what we're for. After Coast Guard has your people safe, call us and we'll handle the boat.

Towing: you're afloat and disabled — we tow you home. Recovery: you're aground, capsized, or stranded but not submerged — we refloat, right, or extract the vessel. Salvage: your boat is submerged — we bring lift bags, dewatering pumps, and staged rigging to raise it (or barge and crane for larger jobs). Insurance and Transport Canada handle these three cases somewhat differently; we know the paperwork.

Yes — we carry containment booms and absorbent pads for on-water spill response, and we notify Transport Canada or the Coast Guard when a spill requires it. Spill response is a required part of a professional salvage response; we don't leave a fuel sheen behind us.
